Enterprise originally developed as one of the country's first public/private partnerships. It was formed in 1983 as the economic development arm for Lancashire County Council. In 2000 Enterprise merged with ARM which brought blue collar activity to the Group. Enterprise plc has grown year on year through organic growth and through several strategic acquisitions. The company now has a turnover in excess of £400 million and employs more than 6,000 people nationally, both directly and through a Direct Service Provider Model.
