Where is the Nursery?
In the Sure Start Centre on the Old Library in Central Avenue, Speke.
Who can use the Nursery?
Any family living in Speke or other Wards which meets regeneration criteria.
What are the opening hours?
We are open from 8am-6pm but you can arrange hours to suit your individual childcare needs.
How will I pay for my childcare?
Families with parents working (16 hours or less per week), or following a college course can apply for help towards the childcare costs. Speke Advice Service will be happy to give you information and help with application forms. Once you have a regular childcare place costs will be calculated into equal monthly installments and should preferably be paid by a bank standing order.
Who will look after my child?
Sure Start employ a team of qualified and experienced Early Years leaders and workers who will ensure that children received the care, support and encouragement they need to settle and enjoy their time in the Nursery. they will take their lead from you regarding children's preference and share with you their plans for activities to promote play, friendship and early learning.
How will I know what my child is doing at Nursery?
Before you decide to apply for a place please make an appointment to visit the Nursery to see our facilities for yourself and ask any questions. When your child is enrolled we will do our best to keep you will informed at all times.
All parents will receive an information pack describing everything that relates to the care and early education for their child.
All children will belong to small groups and get to know their 'key' workers'.
Each day parents will receive a short written report from their group and be able to speak to one of their child's key workers.
Children's creative work will be labelled and saved or displayed.
Children love looking at photographs of especially when they are in them, we will record activities as often as possible and put them in children's individual files or put them on display.
We will encourage children to talk about their experiences because that can help them make sense of the world. We also know you will love listening.
We operate an open door policy for the parents of children in our care.
Parents can always speak in confidence to the manager or a team leader about any concerns they have about their child's care, wellbeing or progress.
